REAL TIME
Once again this excellent big band demonstrates that a marriage between good old tunes and contemporary arrangements can result in music to dance to and certainly music to listen to. The shape of the band as ever with any band is dictated by the drummer and the lead trumpet. If they take care of business, then an average band can sound like a great band. Tony Corbiscello and and ex-Hermanite Dave Stahl certainly shine here, making an excellent band sound superb.
Technically T.C's drums are excellent throughout, good time, interesting fills, a solid base, allowing the group to swing in the old way which is a good thing .
The band certainly has strength in depth, around fourteen soloists are featured, each and everyone is above standard. I guess although I recommend this album thoroughly, in concert the group must be stunning. Certainly many have been impressed enough to ensure a wide selection of performances, all across the USA.
In short,an excellent big band that will certainly please traditional big band aficionados as well as dancers.
