Boy are these guys having fun! This is the debut CD of a terrific big band from the Kansas area. For the director Jack Taylor Junior this is the fulfilment of a dream. Surely even he could not have anticipated this level of success.
18 of the Kansas City's finest,who have been together for around 10 years, have cherry picked some of the best arrangements available and produced an excellent bravura set which will delight big band fans. I am astonished at the quality of the playing, the brass section is to die for! It is not absolutely clear in my notes who the lead trumpet is, it could be Brian Bass. I am sure it is. He is my sort of lead, high, wide, handsome and in tune.... big sound!

Fourteen tracks, 78 minutes you won't have better 'bang for your buck'. A very accessible CD for those who worry about modern arrangements. Just think Woody or Buddy and you will have an idea of the impact.
