Paul Cacia has produced a number of albums over the years, mostly they are regular configuration big band performances involving the best of the best session players on the West Coast at the time.
Paul Cacia , as well as being a technically outstanding trumpeter with an extraordinary high register ability, is a producer who seeks out the best arrangers as well as top session men and jazz players in order that he can achieve his high production standards.
You can guarantee the sound image will be exhilerating, you can expect to have a sharp intake of breath when you see the calibre of musician contracted. You can also enjoy the unique quality of his trumpet; a big sound that survives even his most outrageous forays into the stratosphere; no loss of tone; pitched beautifully ...............
This is an exhilerating CD that swaggers through arrangements by Sammy Nestico, Pete Rugolo, Bill Holman, Ernie Wilkins, David Stout and Paul Cacia. He gives himself co-arranging credits with most of the music, no doubt in an effort to use all that talent, including the string section, to climb a little depper into your being!
iIt works very well too, not a moment is wasted within the 38 minutes of the recording. tthose who have collected Paul Cacia's CDs over the years may find the odd repeat. This album is basically a compilation of music recorded between 1991 and 2005.
